About my practice...
“The first step to getting what you want is having the courage to get rid of what you don't.” - Unknown
My goal is for individuals to address the underlying pain that is beneath the surface of many addictions and counterproductive patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to thoroughly address the underlying issues that deeply affect the individual's ability to grow. My hope is for you to establish a truly authentic relationship with self and become who you were always meant to be.
Who I am…
“We are constantly invited to be who we are.” - Henry David Thoreau
I had a dream to one day become a therapist; however, I was crippled by fear and a lack of confidence. I spent my young adult life chasing various things to mask my pain and numb my false sense of self. I found myself dimming my light and allowed myself to not be seen.
I continued to shelter myself from the world and managed my family’s Italian restaurant. Throughout this time I felt empty, disappointed, and alone. I sought out professional help for I knew I wanted something more for my life. During this time I focused on myself and found a confidence I never knew existed. I ended up going back to school and working at an outpatient facility. It was here where I found my true passion and purpose for life.
I graduated with my Bachelors in Social Work and furthered my education and received my Masters in Social Work. My professional work allowed me to follow my true passion, especially when it came to working with adolescents and young adults struggling with substance abuse/addiction and shame specific to the LGBTQ+ community.
The experiences that I have had throughout my life, allow me to connect with individuals from all walks of life. I am confident in my work and believe that everyone has the potential to live the life they have always dreamt of. I continue to seek out ways to improve myself and expose myself to new experiences and opportunities to grow personally and professionally. I am truly passionate about the work I do and hold it close to my heart. My unique and creative approach allows my clients to address their false sense of self and gain a new enthusiasm for life. I integrate various methodologies and provide a customized approach to each individual. I believe with the right connection, a therapeutic relationship can allow an individual to tap into their true authentic self and be seen for who they truly are.
